March 2, 2023: Why We Are Better Together As One Catholic Community

In November 2022, St. Gabriel’s Catholic School and St. Michael’s Catholic Academy unified as one school across two campuses, ultimately solidifying as one Independent Catholic community. Since that time, each school has continued operating as usual, providing an exceptional education to both Sabers and Crusaders.

Meanwhile, leadership and staff have been working to ensure that this unification means we are truly Better Together. Over the coming months, we will highlight the many areas of our school community that will benefit from strong and unified programming, from our expert robotics and champion athletics teams, to stellar arts programs, and meaningful spiritual and service-learning experiences. Math, language arts, science, and social studies curriculum will vertically align across grades and students will be even more well prepared to thrive as they enter each new phase of learning.

On a recent retreat, the combined Leadership Team developed a Why statement to guide us as we work on details both large and small.

Why Statement:

As one Pre-K-12 Independent Catholic institution, this unification positively impacts student outcomes by increasing opportunities for academic, programmatic, and athletic alignment; We will broaden our talents, expertise, and impact as we educate and develop students to be servant leaders within a Christ-centered environment while enhancing long term sustainability of the school.

Next Steps: School Name & Identity

Over the course of the next few months, as we continue to come together as one unified school, you will have opportunities to participate in thoughtful and honest discussions to share what you love about each campus; culture, traditions, and brand.

We are committed to honor and respect our roots. At this momentous time in the history of our schools, we are also called to work together to build upon the strengths of each campus and create a unified school that is visionary and transformative for our students and all our families.
